As part of my design degree, I embarked on a creative journey with an experimental surface design project that explored the intricate interplay of texture. Focusing on the natural calming textures of the beaches of Aotearoa, I crafted a boho art collection using unconventional materials—plaster and raffia. Each piece in the collection serves as a tactile reflection of the serene coastal landscapes, weaving a harmonious tapestry of textures. To bring the artworks to life, I mocked them up in settings resembling real-life spaces, envisioning how they would seamlessly blend into environments like bedrooms, study walls, or the welcoming reception of a facial business.
